Halloween Pumpkin Design

Halloween Pumpkin Design

I feel like more and more I’m starting to share all my ‘secrets’ on this newsletter. And don’t judge me but I’ve never loved Halloween.

I know, I know. I think it’s because here in Vancouver it’s usually dark, cold and rainy every year I went out trick or treating as a kid.

But now that I’m a mom, I’ve got to step up my Halloween game. And I can step it up in the decor department.

I say forget the pumpkin carving. So messy and hard to do with young kids. What I think is a better idea and personally more fun is to decorate your pumpkin.

I had so much fun with my kids decorating 4 different pumpkins this year using paint, thumb tacks, craft supplies and tissue paper.

I always have a blast sharing my tips and tricks with the City TV Breakfast Television family.

You can click here to catch the full segment and get inspired for some last minute Halloween ideas!

I’d love to hear from you! What is your favourite way to decorate pumpkins for Halloween?

If you have a ‘design dilemna’ just hit reply and I’d be happy to answer on a future video!

How To Decorate With Wallpaper

How To Decorate With Wallpaper

I have to admit, I’ve always loved it, but I’m moving over to the obsessed spectrum lately as I’ve seen it completely TRANSFORM rooms!

That being said, it’s probably one of the top things most of us fear doing to our homes.

We feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.

I don’t know where to put it?

How do I actually get it on the wall?

What if I change my mind and want to take it down?

Is it really expensive?

Is it just a trend?

I can relate to all of these questions and honestly kinda felt this way myself. But, recently, I noticed I’m using wallpaper in pretty much every project.

This is what I now know. Wallpaper adds so much impact, depth and personality to your space.

In today’s video I’m going to share what I’ve learned about wallpaper and answer some of your questions.

I’d love to hear from you? Have you use wallpaper and if not, what’s stopping you?

If you have a ‘design dilemna’ just hit reply and I’d be happy to answer on a future video!

Room Design For Your Small Space

Room Design For Your Small Space

Have you ever struggled with the layout of your living room?

Is the couch too big, what kind of coffee table should I get, do I need a rug?

I have a little story for you…

In between having my first and second daughter we moved from our Vancouver home to the suburbs. We were in search of a larger home and to be closer to family.

The problem was we missed city life so much. The other problem was we were now living in a 4,100 square foot home and moving back to Vancouver meant shaving off about 3,000 square feet!

But, we did it. I remember the first night we slept in our Vancouver home and waking up in a panic about how this small space was going to work for us.

Well, over 3 years later, I’m not going to lie — I would love a little more space but I’m amazed at how if you design smartly, you can make even the tiniest of spaces feel open, fresh and functional.

I have a few ‘tricks’ I used on my own space and continue to use with client’s homes that I want to share with you.

Even if you don’t have a small space, these design principles can  work anywhere!

I’d love to hear from you? What is the one tip you might incorporate into your space?

If you have a ‘design dilemna’ just hit reply and I’d be happy to answer on a future video!

Thanksgiving Table Decorating

Thanksgiving Table Decorating

I have a confession to make to all of you.

I don’t like hosting large dinner parties and to be honest the whole thought of it stresses me out!

Now, I’ve tried, I really have. I felt like that’s what ‘everyone’ did and especially when you have a family. But nope, still don’t like it.

I think the older we get we accept more of who we are, let go of who we are not, and that’s a good thing in my books.

So while I may not be a domestic goddess around the kitchen these days, I have other talents.

What I can do is make your table look pretty darn amazing. And what I’m most proud of is I can do this with things you have around the home and not breaking the bank.

I mean who needs to be buying all new supplies for every holiday dinner party?

Today’s video I’m breaking down my Top 6 Tips to a Beautiful Thanksgiving Tablescape.

I also just shared these tips on City TV’s Breakfast Television this morning and threw in a few fun DIY’s too.

Click here for some easy ideas that I hope inspire you and Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!

Let me know your favourite ways to decorate for the holidays?
